Wyatt Baldwin is the new kid in town, which makes him part of the “unpopular” group at school. He secretly worships perfect and beautiful Jade, but knows she belongs to Nolan, the school jock. Wyatt is a good and caring kid, so when he hears that a rich doctor, named Vincent Conrad, is coming to town to create a Monsterland theme park that will also double as a research facility for victims of a devastating pandemic, Wyatt is in awe of the doctor. Dr. Conrad rewards Wyatt’s admiration by giving him and his friends premium tickets to Monsterland’s grand opening night. Will Wyatt and his friends witness the beginnings of a legitimate medical project or has Dr. Conrad been deceiving the world?
There are so many great elements going on in this book: zombies, vampires, werewolves, jocks, geeks and romance. This book should appeal to a wide range of readers. Readers who enjoy monsters and Sci-Fi will be thrilled. There’s also a good deal of family relationship drama going on too. And a nice amount of innocent romance is included.
The author does a wonderful job of weaving all of these interesting and engaging components to create one fast-moving and brisk plot. Monsterland is just 200 pages, but it’s wonderfully developed, as are the characters. Another excellent book for Michael Phillip Cash!
