Review of Coming Home by Jill Blake

Yes! Our book review team is growing some more. Anastasia Bird has joined our group of fabulous book reviewers. In Anastasia’s own words:

“I’m Ana, I’m 21, I’m from the UK. I absolutely LOVE animals, I’m an avid reader and currently studying for an English Language & English Literature degree. I predominately like chick lit, with a good love story. My favourite authors are Lindsey Kelk, John Green & Paige Toon. I love music, especially country, and medical TV shows such as House and Grey’s Anatomy.”

Ana read and reviewed Jill Blake’s follow-up to Without a Net, Coming Home, and loved Jill’s writing as much as I did!

Coming Home by Jill Blake is one of the best books I’ve read in a long, long, long time. I Coming Home by Jill Blakecouldn’t put it down. It took me two days to read from start to finish.

Whilst I knew from the start what the ending would be, which is fine by me because I like those kinds of stories, it was the twists and turns within the story that left me gawping at my Kindle. Coming Home is full of layers and each layer is more shocking than the one before, it’s certainly a chick lit with a twist! Jill does the characters justice and deals with some sensitive issues with great care and due attention.

SPOILER: The sex scenes in the book left me wanting more – they were so well written, they conveyed the sense of passion without being too crass.

Overall, I genuinely cannot recommend this book enough, I would read it over and over and over again and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!
