Review of Beautifully Broken by Sherry Soule

Beautifully Broken is an intriguing young adult paranormal thriller.  It is filled with mystery and romance, ghosts and demons.Beautifully Broken by Sherry Soule Book Cover Photo

Shiloh,  a 16 year old teenager, always knew that she would never have a normal life, but she never expected  that her life would include fighting demons.

One of Shiloh’s life-long dreams was to become an architect.  So when a job opened up at the Craven Mansion for an assistant architect she applied for it. Shiloh knew the Craven Mansion was haunted and that taking a job there was probably an unwise decision.  She tried to convince herself that she was just curious, but she knew in reality it was because Trent Donavan lived there.

While working at the Craven Mansion Shiloh found that her mentor, Trent’s uncle, was not only knowledgeable and helpful but also trustworthy.  She found herself befriending and confiding in him. Her relationship with Trent quickly moved from friends to more than friends and she was afraid of scaring him away. How was she ever going to tell Trent that she communicates with ghosts and demons?

I found this book to be an interesting young adult read. The story was well-written and the dialogue was witty.  I would recommend this book to any young adult looking for a romantic and intriguing paranormal story.

This is the first book in the Spellbound Series and, like many young adult novels, it ends with a cliff hanger.  So be armed with book two,  Shattered Silence, to continue the series.
